This homemade granola recipe not only has the health benefits of whole grains, flax seeds, and super spices, but it's also a healthier way to fill your house with the irresistible aroma of ceylon cinnamon! Cinnamon is loaded with antioxidants, anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties. And since cinnamon mimics sweetness, it's a great way to reduce sugar while giving yourself a sweet treat loaded with flavour.
Homemade Granola with Ceylon Cinnamon
2 cups gluten-free rolled oats
2 cups steelcut oats
1/2 cup flax seeds
1/4 cup sesame seeds
1/2 cup coconut flakes
1 cup brazil nuts
3 teaspoons ground ceylon cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground cardamom
1/2 cup maple syrup
1/2 cup coconut oil, melted
Add ons: 1 cup goji berries
- Preheat oven to 250 degrees F.
- In a large bowl, mix all ingredients except goji berries until well combined.
- Spread the mixture across 2 parchment lined baking sheets and bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
- Add goji berries and let cool. Serve immediately or store in a mason jar for up to 1 month.
